Hello

Holding a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy. D.) and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP), I have over seven years of experience working as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). I have treated individuals, couples, families, and groups during this time. I have extensive expertise in clinical psychopharmacology, which enables me to comprehend the biological foundations of diseases. I have experience working with both adolescents and adults to address a wide range of illnesses. I take a holistic approach to counseling, which means that in addition to ACT, DPT, CBT, and mindfulness, I use a combination of other techniques.

My Story

In addition to my clinical practice, I have experience teaching at the doctoral level for a Psy.D. program at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology (ISPP). I also teach several courses each term at Harper College in Palatine, demonstrating my commitment to educating future mental health professionals and sharing my passion for psychology.

My clinical experience spans work with adolescents and adults, focusing on various psychological conditions. I take a holistic approach to counseling, integrating techniques such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and other evidence-based strategies. I believe that well-being comes from the harmonious connection between a healthy mind and body, which can often feel daunting for those experiencing psychological distress, particularly when compounded by substance use or co-occurring illnesses.

Through therapy, I emphasize introspection, fostering a positive mindset, and understanding how emotions influence thoughts and behaviors. My approach aims to empower individuals to adopt solutions that promote well-being and more intentional actions. Therapy can serve as a supportive space for individuals, couples, and families to embrace challenges as opportunities and build meaningful connections both with themselves and their communities. Together, we will work to establish goals that align with your personal and emotional needs, encouraging a journey toward growth and healing.

My specialization lies in treating individuals struggling with substance use disorders and mood disorders. I utilize a holistic perspective to highlight how interpersonal relationships influence emotions, feelings, and behaviors. Cognitive-behavioral strategies (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) are central to my approach, as they help clients develop a sense of internalized empowerment. Addressing the feeling of being out of control is crucial to my therapeutic work, as regaining this sense of agency is often the key to improvement and lasting change.
